Case Histories:

AH is a teenager with dyslexia and mild learning difficulties. He is using some software for dyslexia at school and my remit was to review his use of this software and to review his IT requirements.

My recommendations were to extend the usage of the dyslexia programme, particularly in the use of the word prediction facility to assist him with word finding difficulties and also enhance his typing speed by reducing the number of keystrokes required. There were also some changes to some of the settings within the programme which I believed would optimise his usage. I also recommended that he underwent some training to increase his understanding in the operation of computers and thereby reduce his frustration when it did not behave as he expected.
